Demetra Angelika

Demetra Angelika was born in 1999 in Sofia, Bulgaria. In 2008, she began studying percussion instruments at the National School of Music „Lyubomir Pipkov“. In 2024, she obtained a Master’s degree in Percussion Instruments under the tutelage of Prof. Dr. Tatyana Krparova and a Master’s degree in Orchestral Conducting under Prof. Dr. Grigor Palikarov at the National Music Academy „Prof. Pancho Vladigerov“ in Sofia. From the age of eight, she was a member of the Children’s Radio Choir, with which she participated in numerous festivals, concerts, and tours worldwide, both as a solo singer and instrumentalist. While studying at the National School of Music „Lyubomir Pipkov“, she won several First and Second Prizes at national harmony and solfège competitions, including the „Prof. Parashkev Hadzhiev“ and „Prof. Kamen Popdimitrov“ competitions. In 2015, she composed a piece for marimba, vibraphone, voice, and piano titled „Ether,“ which won the „Music and Earth“ competition in the Composition category. In 2020, Demetra became a laureate of four international competitions, and in 2021, she won two First Prizes, one of which was the Grand Prix (Spain). In 2022, she won First Prize at the National Competition „Svetoslav Obretenov“ in Provadia, as well as Second Prize at the international competition „Music and Earth“ in Sofia in the percussion instruments category. Recently, she participated in the CEMAN Orchestra project (a collaboration between Central European music academies). With the orchestra, she performed concerts in Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia. She has attended masterclasses with renowned percussionists, including Emmanuel Séjourné (France), Vasilena Serafimova (Bulgaria/France), Michael Burritt (USA), David Friedman (USA), Svet Stoyanov (Bulgaria/USA), Jean-Baptiste Leclère (France), and others in Paris.

 

Teo Nikolov

Teo Nikolov was born in 2001 in Sofia, Bulgaria. He began playing classical guitar at the age of seven, with his first teacher being the distinguished Bulgarian guitarist, lecturer, and composer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosen Balkanski. Until completing his high school education, Teo trained under him at the Central Army Music School. In 2020, he was admitted as a student of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Balkanski at the National Music Academy “Prof. Pancho Vladigerov,” specializing in Classical Guitar. In 2023, Teo graduated with a Bachelor’s degree with honors, followed by a Master’s degree in 2024—again with honors. Currently, he is pursuing further specialization. He is a laureate of numerous national and international competitions, including the International Classical Guitar Competition – Pleven, where he won Second Prize in 2015 and First Prize in 2016; the International Classical Guitar Competition “Acad. Marin Goleminov” – Kyustendil, where he won Second Prize in 2014 and three First Prizes in 2015, 2020, and 2022; and the XIV Academic Chamber Competition 2024, where he won First Prize (together with Yana Lolova – piano). Teo has participated in masterclasses with some of Europe’s most renowned guitarists, including Aniello Desiderio (Italy), Zoran Dukić (Croatia), Gerhard Reichenbach (Germany), Michael Button (UK), Éric Franceries (France), Antoine Guerrero (France), Liviu Georgescu (Romania), Darko Bageski (North Macedonia), Atanas Ourkouzounov (Bulgaria/France), Georgi Vasilev (Bulgaria/Switzerland), Svetoslav Kostov (Germany/Bulgaria), Stella Miteva-Dinkova (Bulgaria), Boyan Doichev (Bulgaria), and many others. He performs both as a soloist and in various chamber ensembles on stages such as the Chamber Hall of Bulgaria Hall, the Central Military Club, the Concert Hall of the National Music Academy, OIC “Krasno Selo”, and many more in Sofia, as well as in cities like Plovdiv, Burgas, Stara Zagora, Kyustendil, Pleven, and others. Since 2021, Teo has been actively engaged in teaching. As of 2023, he is a guitar instructor at the National School of Music “Lyubomir Pipkov” and Music Art Center.
